If you consider yourself a human being, then you will not be excused from the infamous “as above, so below” that will accompany Mercury’s time for review as he naturally brings forward situations asking for us all to change to over the next few weeks. So exactly what does this “Mercury Retrograde” mean?

Mercury Retrogrades (in a nutshell, he is going to start retracing the measured degrees within his current zodiac transit from above. Think of a person, or in this case a mass of a planet in our Universal energy field, placing a blindfold on. See how things then become ultimately disarrayed as a result down here below?) officially at 4:43pm EST/1:43pm PST, Thursday 06 February. This planet also is well known as The Messenger –who guides our communications, thinking, mentality, movement, transportation, electricity, and any transference of information down here below- will be up close and personal creating all sorts of “fun” interruptions and flux for us to handle within our normal routines of everyday life until 9am EST/6am PST, Friday 28 February.

He will start his Retrograde at 03 degrees Pisces upon 06 February. While still safe to put some initiations out there, you are going to personally start to see from the Pisces/Aquarius areas of the life, things that will ask for your demanding attention for review and redo during the Retrograde passage itself starting 06 February; along with all the normal communication and movement breakdowns per the “MRx norm.”

5 Things You Need to Know About Mercury Retrograde

1.    We are being asked now to prepare under the Approach, from above, to take up in reflection mode for a few weeks. We haven’t had a period like this since 21 October – 10 November, when it was our last Mercury Rx in Scorpio.  Look as well to 26 June to 20 July 2013, Mercury Rx in Cancer. Think back for a moment. Do you remember now what kinds of interruptions, changes and seemingly “interesting” energies where going on in your life at these times?

2.    Mercury Retrogrades in one years time about as often as we sleep. This passage is here once more to ask us, down here below, to slow down, take a pause, and rest up. Our favorite rule of Mercury Retrograde is to take up in action with any word that begins with RE. Such as…

Reconnect, Review, Reflect, Rework, Revise, Revisit, Reset, Reboot, Rewire, Replace, Repair, Relate, Reaffirm, Redo, Retreat, Reassess, Relax, Relocate, Relive, Redirect, Regroup, Remind, Remember, Release….. and our favorite RESPOND.

Backing up, upgrading and updating what you already have placed in motion previously is completely safe to do under this passage. So, if you need a new computer, phone or haven’t saved your files in a long while, these are perfect activities to take advantage of doing for success.

3.    While our actions under the Approach are meant to be carefully dealt with, it is the during Retrograde passage itself that is not a favored time to move forward in life, surrounding any initiation you truly wish to have successful long-term results with. So, if you are about to get married, sign important legal documents, buy a car, start a business, purchase a house, partner-up, or put anything out there you want fabulous and fantastic success with for a long time to come- you might want to REthink those choices of your free will. Whatever is put into initiation and motion under Mercury Rx, typically doesn’t have the longevity for the future, for it is riddled upon it’s birth with a shaky ground of unstable communications and mistakes intertwining it’s being.

4.    Human error is highest under this passage. Therefore, this is the very key to deeply understand how not to get wrapped up in those “tricks” that do find themselves right at your doorstep. We have to take the extra time to make sure we catch the mistakes we tend to make. The carpenter rule of thumb here will save you every time if you “measure twice, and cut once.” We’ll even add, you might want to measure three or 4 times- just to be safe. You’ll want to apply this to your communications -i.e. emails, speaking, writing- repairs, cooking, and anything involving movement that you are doing.

5.    The practice of PATIENCE, so you CAN TAP IN AN ANCIENT PEACE PACE, is how you ride through the MRx passage with victory. Leave another ten to fifteen minutes every day to get where you are going. Stop the normal rushing that’s become society’s norm to get places. When those changes show up in your plans, don’t REact, REspond. Have back-up plans ready to go you can enjoy the response from. Otherwise the result of reaction will create a domino affect you’d rather avoid under this transit, so be sure your free will chooses cautiously here.

Being flexible and adaptable will allow you to have such REward as the next few weeks ask for our pause within our lives. And for heaven’s sake, it is the safest thing really to just RElax and REst without guilt! Try on those RE’s and dive in to what you know already needs REviewing and you’ll sail through this passage all the more.

We’ll begin the first Mercury Retrograde of 2014 in a waxing phase from the New Moon in Aquarius on 30 January -which will also be under the Shadow of Venus Retrograde in Capricorn and the Approach to Mars Retrograde in Libra- asking us to take extreme caution within the normal initiation time of our lunar month until 14 February. This “criss-cross” of inner planet retrograde action, shadows and approaches, will be a sight to behold.  Check in now where Pisces/Aquarius lives in your Zodiac Pie. While the very word “retrograde” scares the average star follower, bear in mind, our planet of love, harmony, and luxury hasn’t take a real vacation since November of 2010 when she was evening the score in Scorpio and Libra.  For the next few weeks as our Sun transits in Taurus, Gemini and Cancer, Venus will be resting up once more. Even though we aren’t so warned to watch out for zaniness as we are under such planetary reflection as Mercury and Mars permit- a Venus Retrograde brings us to a deeper sense of what we value within our lives, what’s it all really worth and truly how we relate to it all.

One of the Zodiac’s benefic and inner planets, Venus’s influence grants gentleness, ease, and strength wherever her graceful energy is currently visiting within the Zodiac Pie. A Grand Gift in Earth

At 9pm EDT, we see an intense Grand Trine in our Earth Signs.

Venus and Jupiter at 09 degrees Taurus (House 7, right side of chart)

At the 9th degree, this more than optimistic communication between our Earth Signs is requesting a true alignment in the practicality, solidarity, efficiency, stability and true worth of our lives down here below. Take a good patient look around your world. What can you be truly grateful for, even amidst any  apparent flux that Mercury Retrograde may be causing? There is a half full glass for you to grab somewhere.
Venus and Jupiter undoubtedly have called forth the harmonies we are seeing for an extra early Spring, as the signs are everywhere about it’s bursting even as we are still within the last licks of Winter with our present Sun at 23 degrees Pisces. Taurus is the sign to “fix” us into Spring, and here, we have the very two planets transiting with these realms. Who isn’t feeling the fever from The Idealist and The Optimist? 
 
Mars is cleaning up big time in the realms of The Virgin, where life here is motivated to be reviewed in fairly intense ways. Driving energies seek to spin out what is no longer necessary within the areas of health, being of service and how pets are handled. Known as the sign of the auditor, Virgo is finding those details to be raked over and it’s mutable ground is getting a true fertilization. By the time 13 April comes along, The Pioneer will return to making sure proper direction and action returns to this area of the life.
Pluto, slowly but surely, is capturing all the scope from the wisdom of Capricorn. The Transformer is bringing everything back to being tried and true, and will not tolerate that which is not being done with the utmost integrity. Those trying to cut corners and make short cuts to the long term goal, will be taught serious lessons from this grave mistake. This planet is about power, and power comes from the slow and steady choice in this day and age.
So at 9pm EDT 13 March 2012 on the East Cost, we have another interesting capture as we cast the here and now chart. With an 18 degree Libra Rising in on the horizon, we have another understanding of the 9 here. The 18 as we have been seeing from the last 6 Full Moons at the 18th degree of the sign, is requesting once more we take a closer look at the balance of Spiritual-Material Conflict within our lives. The material no longer matters, at least the obsession of it as it has been created to appear within this disposable and fast paced greedy world. Getting “Spiritual” and truly in touch with the nature of relating, now, that is what the 18th degree of Libra wishes for us to unite our innate dependency with.
With Libra in the lead and all Cardinal Signs in charge of this 9pm EDT 13 March “As Above,” Pluto is transforming the thinking, Venus and Jupiter are thrilled to be creating harmony in relationships, and Mars says rethink all hopes dreams and wishes in what society really is doing for us all down here below. This Trine in Nine is asking for conclusions to how these 3 areas relate and work in ease with one another. Conclusions are being asked to formulate, or simply, they will fall into place without question.
Also of interest to note is the Medium Coeli (Mid Heaven) in the area of how structure is formed for the collective, and where the individuality stems from, ideally. This point is at  21 degree of Cancer, that of The Crown of the Magi. This number is also happy to report that the soul testing is over and some higher learning is upon us that must be nurtured. New philosophies and beliefs are ready to grow within humanity’s outward expressions. Now, does that precisely mean no more heartache?
No. In fact, there may be more heartache ahead than we have ever seen in quite some time. But, if we are not consumed with the material, our spiritual soul will know how to handle it, and the conflict will cease. The only soul testing we have had is not recognizing enough spirit within our lives. With all of this 18 and 9 going on, it is truly time. Time to let go of what we thought we knew. What we thought we already understood. It’s final. It’s over. The world we all were so damn comfortable in. It doesn’t exist anymore, and it doesn’t work.
Get practical. Get real. Get rooted. Return to tradition. Be efficient. Be happy. Exercise patience. Get healthy. Educate yourself. Think for yourself. Live in Spiritual and Universal Laws. Be silent. Listen. Turn on the deep love in your heart to evolve on this earth. This is our future. It is time to say, “WE are NEW.”
