2025’s Mercury Retrogrades: Our Cycles of Reflection

Understanding Mercury Retrograde and what it actually is meant to positively do for anyone is wise timing is everything wisdom to always take into consideration for our proactive planning and scheduling needs. These recurring astrological cycles are mistakenly overly associated with fear and frustration, which absolutely is not the reaction nor the end results we are ever meant to have with them.

As we look to our regular Mercury Retrograde (MRx) passages (which always occur about three times during any given year) we have additional timeframes as we kickoff 2025 to be acutely aware of due to another even more intense inner planet cycle of reflection that will intertwine along with it.

Equally as our first official MRx of 2025 engages by the late Winter into Spring, things will energetically get, for lack of a better explanation: all the more “complicated” due to other reflective cycles coinciding along with it.

We enter 2025 under The Corrective Shadow of Mercury Retrograde finishing up at 20 degrees Sagittarius from its’ last Cycle of Reflection that spanned 25 November until 15 December 2024. This MRx Shadow completes 02 January.

We are equally fully engaged with an even more intense Cycle of Reflection from another inner planet Mars Retrograde, 06 December 2024 until 23 February 2025, whose Corrective Shadow works with the collective until 02 May 2025 during 2025’s 1st Mercury Retrograde within Venus Retrograde as you’ll learn more about below.

Each Mercury Retrograde lasts for approximately 21 days (3 weeks).

All have an Approach period, (date when Mercury crosses over the degree point it will fully Retrograde back to) and a Shadow period, (date when Mercury moving forward crosses back over the degree point it began to Retrograde upon).

The APPROACH alerts us to what MRx reflections and matters are on the way to be resolved so we can properly prepare as consciously as possible.

The SHADOW allows us to tie up the loose ends and make necessary adjustments concerning any natural errors that occurred during the Retrograde itself: thus a conscious correction from reflection passage.

Unlike both 2023 & 2024 who were overseen by outer planets in only one Zodiac Sign for the entire year, we now have an inner planet taking the reins for the collective pulse to be experienced for 2025’s 365 days, moving from Leo to Cancer under Retrograde then moves under forward motion back through Cancer to reach Capricorn by the close of this 9 Universal Year.

The first 54 days of 2025 are witnessed across the globe with its’ guide in charge, Mars, under Retrograde, which ONLY favors that for genuine soul success, that REFLECTION is being absolutely honored. Meaning: anything launched “brand new” is like placing it in a complete foundation of sand for any kind of future success.

It will take until 02 May for the Corrective Shadow of Mars Retrograde once Direct upon 23 February to unwind from all the “retrograde kinks” that will undeniably display themselves from 06 December 2025 until 23 February 2025. The collective will witness a many “errors” unfold during the Retrograde period the Shadow will naturally correct as it will retrace its’ Retrograde steps back from 17 degrees Cancer to 06 degrees Leo.

Past 02 May under forward motion, Mars will journey through the remainder of Leo, then it moves through Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius all the way through to 12 degrees Capricorn to conclude our 9 Universal Year.

To say it will be more than a “rough start” to the “New Year” is probably another understatement.

Our experience of Autumn 2024 moving into the heart of Winter 2025, completely casts us into the ultimate request to honor reflection like humanity has never quite experienced up til now.

Unlike his close neighbor Mercury, it’s been awhile since The Pioneer planet took some necessary “time off.” The last Mars Retrograde cycle of reflection was within the sign of Gemini 30 October 2022 to 12 January 2023 when we were absolutely asked to honor the soul homework of closing the gap of the UNTIE to the UNITE. 

Prior to that, we were in the fired up in reflection requests within the sign of Aries 06 September to 13 November 2020 seeking for us to be Staying In Our Own Lane.

The 3rd passage for our 2020’s Decade from Mars under a Retrograde passage will be ultimately once again upgrading our need for retreat as well as our conscious abilities to be paying extremely close attention to all of our timing matters. 

06 degrees Leo, The Romantic
17 degrees Cancer, The Star of The Magi

Upon 06 December 2024 stationed at 06 degrees Leo: the next cycle of reflection, review and redo commences for Mars as it turns Retrograde until 23 February 2023, stationed before turning Direct, at 17 degrees Cancer.

Since its’ preparation for reflection Approach began 05 October at 17 degrees Cancer it will take until 23 February 2025 to move back to this very same 17 degrees point in Cancer once Mars starts to Retrograde at 06 degrees Leo 06 December. 

These intense reflective forces from Mars will be engaging within two different signs. 

In Leo from 06 December 2024 until 05 January 2025

Reflection will distinctly call moving from 06 to 0 degrees within the fixed fire organization sign of creative self-expression, loyalty, the heart of the matter, protection, children, manifestation, dignity and all exchanges of inspiration and faith energies that are favored by The Lion.

In Cancer from 05 January to 23 February 2025

Reflection will distinctly call moving from 29 to 17 degrees within the cardinal water leadership sign of emotional unfoldment, nurturing, feelings, imagination, food, nourishment, caring for others, the home, family and all exchanges of receiving impressions and gut sensation energies that are favored by The Crab.

Once Mars is Direct, the corrective Shadow passage tends to unwind the back to reality check after the Retrograde circulated confusion and illusion.
