Remembering Prince

I take this time now to pause and stop talking about what the Stars saw about Prince. While I can be comforted by understanding there is a timing is everything tale to tell, there is a much more personal way I would like to remember this special soul who unknowingly helped me through a great deal in my personal life.

I grew up with parents who had wonderful taste in music, exposing me to plenty of 1960-80’s blues and rock and roll. Yet, Prince was someone I gravitated to on my very own. I remember my Mother gave me the album “Purple Rain” by 5th grade for Christmas and she said, “Don’t listen to the lyrics.”

Well, the natal Libra Moon I have in my own chart is all about the lyrics within a song, so of course, I didn’t listen to her. As the years went by, I gravitated to cassette tapes and eventual CDs and my Prince collection became more than extensive. His music always could allow me to feel a freedom that was not always easily reached due to my conservative upbringing.

I was definitely listening to the lyrics.

It wasn’t until my mid 30’s that a childhood memory of being sexually molested by a trusted family friend came back into my space to process and heal. Of course, astrology helped me a great deal at this time because any natal chart can clearly indicate if a person may experience such a tragic experience during their life.

What Prince’s music did on so many levels to help me heal my own wounds, can not be properly explained, nor given enough gratitude to. I have always said he channels such a healthy sense of sexuality- to not have to feel ashamed, dirty, shy nor embarrassed about this very, very natural human form of expression.

Yet when you are sexually abused as a young child and your subconscious buries it for your own protection for 30 years, it can really take a toll on a many outcomes and personal choices one can make as you experience life along the way.

Just a few days after Prince’s passing, I traveled from New York to New Orleans, (happily revisiting a 10 hour set of my Prince collection on the 1st leg out to West Virginia), and stopped in Atlanta on the way to see my dear friend, Rising Star Megan Hayes in a brilliant play appropriately titled Sex With Strangers. One of our many bonds is but of course, Prince.

That night after the stunning and thought provoking production from Horizon Theatre Company –which became an equal part of an intense healing process for me- I had a dream about Prince. It was one of those “clear as day” ones, which always are so fascinating to receive.

I was with friends from college at Prince’s house. We were all enjoying social time and one of them was kinds acting all too “star struck” and I said, “You know you just can’t do that, lol, this is Prince for God’s sake! Have some respect!”

The dream scene shifted to a restaurant. Prince and I were standing at the corner of an empty bar. He looked good and healthy, and he was definitely short as he is in real life. I told him my story and couldn’t thank him enough for what his music had done to truly console and help me navigate through some more than challenging feelings to become sexually open and healed in my life once again.

He didn’t say too much back, but almost like a maestro, his song ‘For the Tears in Your Eyes’ started playing in the background. Then he said, “You can dry your eyes now.” I simply gave him a great big hug.

Of course, I woke up crying, and absolutely amazed.

One thing is for sure. Love Never Dies.

For those who are interested, I share some brief words on how the Stars equally regard the ingenuity of Prince.

There is so much that astrology and numerology can do to help us all better process and understand the sudden passing of Prince, who transited in Spirit 21 April, 2016.

Yet, as we look to the energies composing 07 June 1958 –the day Prince took human form- it is extremely clear why he held his life off stage so private. In Spirit, this truly hasn’t changed.

07 Karmic Paths (including any 16th & 25th calendar birthdates as well) are not only known to potentially excel on the stage should they choose through singing, poetry, acting and dance- they carry a distinct mark of being observed as tactical loners. They always need necessary time throughout the evolution of their life to be spent in privacy when not shining in their innate intuitive light.

Most people are hearing much more about Prince since 21 April, which includes the absolute goodness he shared amongst those less fortunate from humans to animals behind the scenes. Whether it was part of his honoring of being a Jehovah Witness or not- it was deep within his 7 karmic path nature to keep his philanthropic deeds quiet.

This was never the glory he sought to be recognized for, but absolutely something his 36/9 Lifepath wished to do to help those in need as this numerology influence instinctively enjoys defending the underdog and being a pioneer. 36’s Chaldean Karmic Mystery is known as ‘The Sceptre’ and their torch will be carried very high, often following along a yellow brick road in life that promises a form of fame and celebrity.

Equally, as a Gemini Sun, Prince carried the energy of duality through this extremely intellectual air sign’s symbolism of The Twins. His musical genius that we saw on stage was quite different from the generous genius that choose to remain quiet when he was off of it.

The Timing Was Everything for The Last Waltz New Orleans

When Warren Hayes announced he was pioneering a 40th Anniversary concert celebration of The Last Waltz New Orleans, many people asked, why is he choosing to do this at the close of April and not in November of 2016?

Aside from this epic event that put the icing on the cake for 2016’s Jazzfest in New Orleans, let’s find out why by utilizing astrology and how very much “timing is everything.”

As we look back to the evening of 25 November 1976 of The Last Waltz at The Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, astrology is able to cast a chart –just like a human being- for the event.

Area #5 (5th House) piece of the pie in the natal chart is the events’ creativity and abilities to be seen on the stage of life. We see quite a line up of planets here that are all positioned here. Uranus (originality/individuality), Mars (fame/celebrity/motivation), The Sun (creativity/identity/character) Neptune (intuition/music/performance/arts) & Mercury (communication/mindset/movement).

With all this natural 5th house energy placed in Scorpio and Sagittarius for the original The Last Waltz, it is no wonder the phenomenon of this final concert of The Band became the fascination that it did. Scorpio energy favors power, rebirth, and wealth while Sagittarius energizes multi-faceted talents, optimism, celebration and generosity to shine when place in a natal 5th House. The Last Waltz in 1976 was over 4 hours long and its’ cast of talent beyond The Band itself was immense. Indeed, this was simply not your average concert.

For those who are fans of The Band, this last performance had some true staying power beyond the actual night of the event 25 November 1976. Within 2 years, upon 26 April 1978, 17 November Scorpio Sun Martin Scorsese himself released his anticipated and yet still criticized documentary film, The Last Waltz, coined as “the finest of all rock movies.” With a natal Neptune as we see it placed from the night’s natal chart, it was bound to happen that a creative adventure involving film would be made. Neptune guides over the entire film industry as well as artistic pursuits of all kinds.

Astrology is a rich source that always can indicate when timing is everything. As we take the “star map” of The Last Waltz in 1976 and place the current transits in time around it, this is how we determine the forecast for any living soul. This ability is the precise reason why Haynes’s timing for April 2016 was simply the perfect one to celebrate the passing of 40 years.

See how in the outer circle there are two planets in transit in this same 5th House area? These are Saturn (responsibility/wisdom/stability) and Mars (fame/celebrity/motivation), both in current Retrograde motion. Retrogrades in astrology indicate there is a request to honor a cycle of reflection, and go back to what already exists.

Fast forwarding to 2016, true to his own current forecast and timing, we find this musical star in great awareness as the world is completely witnessing The New Beginnings of Warren Haynes. Both cycles of the Mars and Saturn Retrograde are reconnecting with all of the original energy created upon 25 November 1976 at present, and so too, did Haynes innately listen to this calling.

Forever fans of The Band were left in suspense leading up to the evenings of 29 & 30th of April in New Orleans this year. What anyone knew under not only under Mars and Saturn Retrograde, is this would be a 40th Anniversary celebration with “Superstar Surprise Guests” at the historical Saenger Theatre.

To further affirm how late April 2016 was the perfect timing for revisiting this historic concert, a third significant planet happens to be in reflection mode, that of Mercury Retrograde. This transit also favors going back to revisit the past and recreate it. Artistic adventures of all kinds are one of the few things that energetically go extremely well whenever Mercury Retrograde is in effect.

Once again looking to The Last Waltz’s natal chart, we see this energy unfolding from the 11th House, that of its’ groups, friends, hopes, dreams and wishes. Mercury had just started retrograding 28 April, and was conjunct the events’ natal Jupiter here. Back in 1976, this is another reason why The Band was so well supported by fellow musicians in complete abundance for their final epic hurrah upon Thanksgiving Day that year.

So just who would these “Superstar Surprise Guests” be in April of 2016 as we knew reflection was so strong? One might have thought, the epic cast of original The Last Waltz musical greats that are still blessed to be alive such as Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Ronnie Hawkins, Dr. John, EmmyLou Harris and Bob Dylan could have possibly shown up. Even The Band’s surviving members Garth Hudson & Robbie Robertson may also have been part of Haynes celebration.

But you cannot expect an innovative Aries like Warren Haynes to repeat what previously happened exactly the way it already did. Those who where at the Saenger Theatre for The Last Waltz New Orleans, got more than their fair share of superstars to celebrate 40 years since The Band played their last song.

It was known pre-show that “Guitarist Warren Haynes will serve as musical director for The Last Waltz New Orleans as he’ll lead a band consisting of Don Was, keyboard master John Medeski, country superstar Jamey Johnson, The Meters’ pioneering bass player George Porter, Jr., The Radiators’ Dave Malone, legendary funk drummer Terrence Higgins (Dirty Dozen Brass Band, John Scofield’s Piety Street Band), The Bonerama Horns’ Mark Mullins (Galactic, Harry Connick, Jr.), and more still to be announced as well as superstar surprise guests.” -25 March 2016, Jam Base

As your author was “born and raised” on Scorsese’s documentary, (due to her parents musical taste in the mid 1970’s), equally, The Doobie Brothers concerts in video were in their same repertoire collection. My favorite superstar surprise guest that brought back more of my own past was a musician who ignited pure and genuine stellar soul while recreating The Band’s music all night long: the marvelous Michael McDonald.

McDonald’s impeccable soulful voice coupled with his ingenious keyboard playing made delightful rekindling magic with The Band’s music all evening long. Definite highlights where as he switched to banjo during “Rag Momma Rag” and poured out a most touching rendition of Neil Young’s “Helpless.”

McDonald continued to rivet the Saenger stage along with the rest of the brilliant 40th Anniversary cast as they brought down the Saenger Theatre house during the encore of “Don’t Do It.”

Warren Haynes certainly delivered a more than gifted tribute to one of rock history’s most celebrated bands through The Last Waltz New Orleans. This was absolutely stunning and perfect timing is everything as the dates of 29-30 April were so undeniably appropriate to return to this past event and bring its’ memories back in to the present.

To many more of your new beginnings to come, Aries Star Warren Haynes. Much Gratitude to you and the all-star cast that gave us all a spectacular night to always remember under these cycles of reflection that ask us to revisit the past and cherish it’s many gifts.

The New Beginnings of Warren Haynes

Happy Birthday and “New Year” to the legendary Warren Haynes, 06 April 2016. It’s now the official start not only to his 56th year, but a brand new era of time in his life, as a 1 Personal Year promises him the very mantra of “if it is NEW it is for YOU.”

While most Allman Brothers fans are deeply saddened the group ended their 45 years on 28 October 2014, it was just a preview of what was meant to come to a close for Warren as he was aligned in a 9 Personal Month of endings and conclusions at the time, while his current 8 Personal Year still granted him significant harvest, recognition and rewards.

Granted there was a bit of confusion about who wanted to end what, but you can read more for yourself. Warren had just started his 9 Personal Year of endings and wrapping up the 9 year era that started for him in 2007. The Ultimate Classic Rock article published 16 June 2015 – nicely cleared the air of any conflict in his 6 Personal month that June of hearing both sides of winding down the Allmans’ story.

Since the age of 12, when was in a 2 Personal Year indicating a birth of talent was meant to start cooperating with him, the guitar has been right by his side ever since. As Warren also follows a 6 karmic path, he is built to display artistic harmony as well as excel within relationships. In his case, we see this is through the expression of music- while being a genuine leader as he does it as well combined with his Aries sun.

Haynes follows an 8 Lifepath that promises he will continue to work diligently and gain stability at whatever he does while being ultimately recognized and rewarded for it. Speaking of those unparalleled abilities to unite musicians together, before Warren is even one month into his new 1 Personal Year, he has a gigantic event planned down in New Orleans, LA for the last two days of April, that he is the musical director of.

Coming up on 25 November 2016, is the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz. Considered one of the greatest influences in music’s history, this was The Band’s final concert on Thanksgiving Day in 1976 which gathered more than it’s fair share of guest star musicians who still stand in their own right of being legends today, having created their own legacy’s.

Warren is already booked on his own tour this fall, so he decided to take advantage as the annual Jazz Fest in New Orleans was coming to a close. What a finale it will be to commemorate the 40 year anniversary of The Last Waltz by bringing together an epic all star “supergroup” band, (read more about the historic horns tribute to the late Allen Toussaint) as well as very anticipated “superstar surprise guests.” April marks a 5 personal month for Warren where more than a feeling of blossoming and attracting the masses will be surrounding him in a time when all things are cropping up a new.

However, the flavor of the past will be more than rich. What we love the most is a cycle that loves to bring us all back to reflection called Mercury Retrograde begins 28 April. Minus a potential few sound glitches, Warren could not have chosen a better time to revisit what already exists: celebrate it and recreate it as Mercury Retrograde always favors for success.

What’s in the Stars for Eric Clapton, 2016-17

Happy New Year and 71st to Aries Superstar Eric Clapton.

With a new foundation in place that leveraged all of 2015-16’s blossoming changes in a 5 Personal Year, the year ahead looks to be one that brings in more harmony that we all have learned to expect from the Stellar Slowhand guitar great.

It’s been a whirlwind of changes over the past year during 2015-16. Life promises to move forward in a continuous stream from what Clapton ultimately began at the beginning of his current 9 year span back in 2011, during his last 1 Personal Year, when a many new seeds where once again planted in his life.

Looking back into history a bit, like other 3 musicians such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, (03 October), 30/3 birthdate Clapton innately has followed his karmic path that deeply understands things in 3.

We have all obviously seen this be displayed as he has related his natural understanding of rhythm through music. Claiming his true Aries gift of leadership, he is recognized as one of the most influential guitarists of all time. He is the only 3 time inductee to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: as a solo artist, as well as with his bands The Yardbirds and Cream.

Equally like guitar great Stevie, Eric battled with drug and alcohol addictions. He has successfully overcome them.

As a 25/7 Personal Year of healing, inner work and solace was coming to a close in January 1982, in his 8 Personal Month of taking responsibility, he checked into rehab and faced his darkest fear of becoming sober. As 1982-83’s 8 Personal Year carried out, he learned from his experiences, and found stability once again. An 8 Year wishes to grant anyone rewards, and for Clapton that year, this was his very own life.

“In the lowest moments of my life, the only reason I didn’t commit suicide was that I knew I wouldn’t be able to drink any more if I was dead. It was the only thing I thought was worth living for, and the idea that people were about to try and remove me from alcohol was so terrible that I drank and drank and drank, and they had to practically carry me into the clinic.” ~Eric Clapton

1990-91 marked the next 25/7 Personal Year of healing, inner work and solace for Clapton, in where the world witnessed him go through very painful grievances from the tragic losses of Stevie Ray Vaughan (27 August 1990) and his son Conor (20 March 1991) during that year’s cycle.

“I almost subconsciously used music for myself as a healing agent, and lo and behold, it worked… I have got a great deal of happiness and a great deal of healing from music.” ~Eric Clapton, reflecting upon writing and healing through “Tears in Heaven.”

One has to absolutely commend Clapton for remaining strong and utilizing his courage, qualities his Aries Sun sign grants his free will to choose from. There is no question that a recovering addict’s toughest moments are when extreme life challenges cycle into their experiences. Congratulations Eric for staying true to what really matters: you. Many others in your field are not here with us today to be able to say the same thing.

Looking forward, it still remains a secret as to what anyone can expect as to who are the“superstar surprise special guests” at the upcoming 40th Anniversary celebration of The Last Waltz in New Orleans, 29 and 30 April. Fans can only hope he will be one of them.

In his now current 6 Personal Year of settling into a fresh cycle of peaceful feeling and finding a new balance, April marks his 1 Personal Month, and the 29th and 30th are 3 and 4 Personal Days for Clapton. The original concert date was only scheduled for the 30th, at the Saegner Theater’s address, 1111 Canal Street. See the pattern of the 1 & 4 here?

As the anticipated epic 40 year celebration of The Band’s The Last Waltz aligns upon these dates (equally under the cycle of reflection and going back to what already exists -which will be in play- called Mercury Retrograde), it surely would be a stellar opportunity for new beginnings on an old theme. Clapton is currently not touring, so everyone will just have to wait and see.

Once again, looking to a birth name, more evidence falls into place about how we can spell out the truth from how It’s All in the Name. We are so very happy you are still here with us Eric, to shine brightly in your 71st and new 6 Personal Year. May you always continue to change the world.
