Retrograde: Any planet’s reverse movement which results in an opposite direction to that of the Earth’s orbit around the Sun, or of the Moon around the Earth.

So when in Retrograde, a planet’s channel is what one might say is well…a little off in the optimal guidance it can bring. In such cases as Mercury’s Retrograde motion, this period occurs three times every calendar year. Now with a planet like fast moving and talking Mercury, one can only begin to imagine the multitudes of circumstances that could become a slight eschewed when the channel of The Messenger is not looking where he is going.

Keep in mind that Mercury is one of the inner planets and travels within its’ orbit very close to the Sun. Therefore, when in Retrograde, the collective (that means all of us people here on EARTH who have a HEART) typically sees it’s fair share of mishaps and misunderstandings. Compared to other outer planets that retrograde, Mercury’s proximity to the Sun allows for that “off energy” to throw the world in more flux than normal.

Yet, with awareness, no one has to get caught up in what is known as the Messenger’s “tricks” over his roughly 3 and a half week rearrangement fest. Huge rule of thumb during Mercury Retrograde is not to rush and leave plenty of time when going places.

Forms of travel are always caught in delays at this time. Really helpful over this time is to avoid “freaking out” because your flight got moved back 2 hrs or you didn’t make the light. Take a slow approach and work on relaxing in the midst of a busy day.

Easier said than done when what you will be seeing is people getting irritated because they react to the sudden changes going on. Rather than react, we are ultimately challenged to practice patience in our routines. Mercury REtrograde is about rescheduling, redoing, rewriting, rethinking, and of the utmost importance, reflecting.

Equally when it comes to speaking, do it clear and slowly. Those communications as well fall into the bag of tricks Mercury can pull- resulting in such misunderstandings that people are know to easily fight over this time- and ridiculous energy is spent fretting over something that wasn’t that important to be discussing anyway.
