Solar Eclipse in CANCER, 21 July 2009

Just before our Sun concludes its’ transit in Cancer before entering the energy of Leo, we are blessed to celebrate one of the more significant events of Summer 2009: the rare occasion of a Solar Eclipse. We find our Sun eclipsing at precisely 29 degrees Cancer Tuesday evening. Undoubtedly this momentous planetary event is most auspicious for new beginnings. But these seeds will only flourish if the necessary clearing of the past will be honored, which our recent Lunar Eclipse set up perfectly for us. This solar highlight occurs at 10:35pm, just 1 minute after a New Moon at 29 degrees Cancer at 10:34pm EDT.

As souls we can take this opportunity to bring forth all that needs initiation in our lives- with emotion and spirit marking our moves. The individual focus should be placed upon the area of life that the Cancer house within the birth chart rules over. Remember the Crab’s virtues of imagination, leadership, parenthood, and sensitivity are those the Universe is requesting to be utilized.

Lunar Eclipse in CAPRICORN, 07 July 2009

Yesterday blessed us with another ECLIPSE, as the collective was given the opportunity to embrace the reflective tones of a Lunar transit. Now we will prepare ourselves in just two weeks for the New Moon, on the approach to an initiating Solar Eclipse. Both July 2009 Eclipses occur during the Sun‘s visit in the sign of Cancer. We find the Moon urged us to purge yesterday upon Tuesday the 7th at 15 degrees Capricorn 5:38am EDT, a mere 17 minutes after the peak of the Full Moon 5:21am EDT.

What is the difference between the ecliptic energies the Universe’s offers during the Sun’s transit through the sensitivities of the Crab one may ask? The natural understanding of the Moon’s Full to New period, the waning phase- is a great place to start. Now, as we have just peaked at the Full Moon in Capricorn, the Moon has exhausted it’s energy in this opposite sign of the current Sun. This offers the appropriate rhythm for contemplation, reorganization and review as the Moon now loses it’s fullness, thus the waning phase.

We gear up for the upcoming Solar Eclipse upon the New Moon 21 July, where the opportunities for new beginnings and fresh starts will be at our fingertips. But first- release, reassessments, and cleansing is smart to gravitate to until then.

The next two weeks until the New Moon in Cancer grants us Earthlings the necessary time to make assessments of the activities within our lives of the previous two since 22 June. Looking to our natal birth charts will tell us on an individual level what areas of life we should apply focus and energy. It is silly to think we as humans can “fix everything” in our lives that we know may be in need of adjustment. The Moon’s movement points monthly where we can make these proper choices of reflection.

Yesterday’s Lunar Eclipse brought to the collective all of the Moon’s intensity in Capricorn, at a very balanced 15 degrees. The 15’s numerical understanding from the Chaldean perspective is The Magician, and is singularly ruled through 6 by Venus. Coupled with the stabilizing energies of the Goat, this planetary event is blessing the collective with the message to honor your relationships, while taking responsibility of them. Lessons learned, respecting tradition, and honing in on wisdom are intense under any Capricorn Moon.

28 May born Mark Sanford just celebrated his new 26/8 Personal Year. Apparently he did not do his required inner work that was requested from 2008’s cycle within the 7’s energy. While he did decide to spend time alone, it was on the internet doing something he shouldn’t have been.

And so now, as his 26/8 Personal Year of Partnerships has kicked in, his 5 Personal Month in June of permanent and major change wasted no time in bringing on the not so happy energy of the 26: “It warns of dangers, disappointments, and failure, especially regarding the ambitions, brought about through bad advice, association with others, and unhappy partnerships of all kinds.”

Whilst the 26 year can be one of reward, recognition and a bountiful harvest, when a soul is not operating from a place of genuine intention, the pitfalls of any numbers’ energy will fall upon them. Sander’s Karmic Path of the 28, The Trusting Lamb, while being a lovely energy to be in the spotlight and grants the ability to be on the captivating stage of life, equally warns, “It symbolizes a person of fine promise, even genius, and great responsibility, with the capability of achieving impressive success, and the 28 person frequently does realize such success, only to see everything taken away unless he or she has carefully provided for the future. It indicates loss through misplaced trust in others, powerful opposition from enemies and competitors in business or career, danger of serious losses in courts of law-and the possibility of having to begin the life path over and over again.”

And so, the world saw on a 11/2 Personal Day of emotional upheaval for Sanford, an incredible shock. Sanford had it coming from all angles numerically, for the 11 also states: ”It represents two members of the same or opposite sex- or two opposed situations. In either case, compatibility of interest is lacking, and interference from a third force must be conquered. Difficulties may also arise from the illusion of separation. It’s necessary to unite divided goals to avoid a sense of frustrated incompletion.”

Not to give Gemini politicians a bad rap but woah… this is the second Gemini Governor in 2 years to get caught in the act of adultery. Mr. ‘SPLIT,’ ELIOT SPITZER, also was exposed under the same numerical cycles. Thinking back to another Gemini President, J.F.K., there is much to be said about the symbology of being The Twins.

Remembering Al Hirschfeld

We take pause today to remember another Grand Gemini, Al Hirschfeld. Known for over an incredible 80 year career of capturing the life and times of celebrities throughout the 20th century with the simplicity of ink on paper, there is no question how Hirschfeld became appropriately titled, ‘The Line King.’

Born in St. Louis to the last licks of 29 degree Gemini Sun in 1903, Albert Hirschfeld was gifted right from the start. Even though Al was distinctly known through his caricatures, he did begin his art enthusiasm through the mediums of painting and sculpture alongside the obvious knack of his intimacy with the line in his drawings.

Before a life-long artistic career while residing in New York City, Hirschfeld studied in Paris. Like many extremely talented souls who achieve greatness in their field, Al possesses an auspicious astrological aspect called the grand trine within his natal birth chart. Grand trine??? You might be saying… what on earth does that mean? Umm… do I have one of those?

Although Hirschfeld’s time of birth is not exactly known, one can still determine from the date of birth the placement of each of his planets in the signs they were in when he first drew breath upon 21 June, 1903. His grand trine in the air signs undoubtedly aided in his clarity that lasted throughout his 99 years, as these energies are known to retain their mental capacities, while Gemini is a great influence to retain youth.

HOWLIN’ WOLF and JUDY GARLAND
DOB’s: 10 JUNE 1910/1922

In honor of Gemini’s duality, we pay tribute today to two of this signs’ legends who undoubtedly left their own distinctive mark upon history. Both decided to change their name from the one granted at birth: uncannily being the one that told the tale of the very life they lead while incarnated to a Gemini born upon the 10’s ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Karmic Path. Both guided by fire energy Lifepath numbers, Chester Arthur Burnett and Frances Ethel Gumm share an interesting array of similarities along their seemingly short lifetimes.

Gemini’s across the board are known to be inventors, people-oriented, and clever communicators. The natives born under this sign typically have some major affect upon the masses under Mercury’s guidance. GENERAL MOTORS: GM MEANT TO RESET GOALS

Even though we may be tired of hearing of the car industries’ financial woes- make no mistake the current transit of Saturn in Virgo still has some re-adjusting to do in all transportation and service-oriented areas until October. The most recent addition to the ill-fated bankruptcy list, General Motors, was founded upon 16 September 1908, under a 23 degree Virgo Sun. GM currently is, by all astrological measures, in a period where karmic responsibility has come to visit and reorganize a few things for this global company.

As GM celebrated its’ New Year in 2008, it entered a 26/8 Personal Year of Partnerships, advising to proceed with caution in any pairing throughout the year. The singular 8’s energy denotes the potential for advancements, honor and recognition, along with material gains from the last 7 years work. However, if the right choices leading up to this point have not been made, the very opposite affects may unfold in an 8 Personal Year.

01 June marked the beginning of a 5 Personal Month within this 8 Year for GM- where the 5’s energy of permanent changes sure brought in just a bit more movement than they probably desired. On a 6 Personal Day, where legalities should be addressed, the world learned GM has joined the list of economic examples of what not to do to reap success.

Touching back to astrology, GM’s current transits have Saturn in Virgo square to their natal Pluto in Gemini- equally lending to explaining the hardship it has recently announced. The current transit of Saturn is only 1 degree off its’ natal Mars @ 15 degrees Virgo. Woah. Definitely time for GM to do some serious reassessments in their drives, vision and ability to pioneer.

From the start of this now 100 yr old corporation, there was no doubt GM was meant to rise to the status within the car industry that they did. Not ANOTHER Mercury REtrograde so soon? Yes, it seems we just got done with Venus and now her shadow remains til 20 May… is there ever a break? No doubt the collective is requested to be in fix-it mode these days. Although value-oriented Venus retrogrades only every 18 months, Mercury just so happens, due to his quicksilver pace, to do his “backwards thing” typically 3 times in a given year. When you look to the planets, you’ll find there is always someone in the Universal skies offering us a different opportunity for reflection.
