WORD PONDER: STILLNESS

Stillness may far and large be one of the most under utilized words within our habits and routines today. The definition of this noun is known to be via Webster’s as: “The quality or state of being still; quietness; silence; calmness; inactivity.” Be honest, when was the last time this sincerely happened to you aside from the act of going to sleep every night? In our current world of media crazed, internet overload, technology upgrades, and waste accumulating faster than the earth can handle, it would be of tremendous benefit for humanity to become sincere friends with stillness. Like the Mayans deeply understood long ago, the pace of the human race is so sped up, stillness is likely to become a very popular word in our future.

Some people, adhering to Webster’s definition, may believe being in stillness brings them “nothing.” What good can possibly happen in silence and inactivity except boredom? One might even ask, how does it make any sense that growth or learning can occur here?

Looking to the name expression guiding stillness, we find it rings to the Chaldean’s understanding of the 30’s Loner – Meditation. What do you know, here is Jupiter’s guiding light of the singular 3 here to assure that yes, even in stillness, plenty of education and expansion is meant to occur. Jupiter is known to bring ease, fortune, and wisdom to any situation, especially when one doesn’t take its’ optimism for granted.

The Chaldeans distinctly said of the 30’s Loner – Meditation: “This is a number of retrospection, thoughtful deduction, and mental superiority over others. However, it belongs completely to the mental plane, and those represented by it often put all material things to the side, not because they have to, but because they wish to do so. Social functions and public gatherings are not their style. 30 doesn’t deny happiness or success, but fulfillment is more often found in retreating from the chaos of the market place, so that one’s mental superiority may be used to develop something worthwhile to the world… to write ideas which may change the world… or to protect and develop one’s personal talents, such as art or other gifts.”

How amazing it is that the ancient Chaldeans’ wisdom still holds true today. The gifts within stillness are ones that truly wish to teach us about detachment from the material plane our modern world is overly consumed with. The blessings of Jupiter’s expansion most certainly can find us through the mental plane where -within our solitude- stillness is able to bring forth personal abundance.

Perhaps one reason stillness isn’t a true human practice at this time in history, is the fact that we are so fooled by the consumerism and information age surrounding us. Jupiter through the 3 here also is not a fan of lies, and prefers brutal honesty in all of its’ dealings. Participating in the 30’s understanding of stillness helps us to no longer be blinded, and find our own genuine truths when we make the time to retreat.
