What’s Really in a Word? Mercury Retrograde

MRXlexigramsSStar
We are taking a “detour” from our normal chain of word pondering to place our attention upon astrology’s recurring cycle of MERCURY RETROGRADE.

Who is Mercury & What Happens Under Retrograde?
This is an astrological cycle in time that asks us to carefully consider our choices for the future- preferring that we take time to rest, reroute, reboot, and recharge as best we can during it’s passage.

Being Mercury is an inner planet, its’ retrograde affects are felt more intensely than what our outer planet retrograde cycles unfold. Mercury is known as our Messenger, the planet that guides all of our thinking, mentality, communicating, and anything that involves movement within our lives.

When Mercury is retrograde, he is equally known as “The Trickster” when we tend to naturally see our courses of action involving flux, change, and oddities surrounding them during this transit that asks for pause verses forward motion. Human error is also known to be at its’ highest under this transit.

First Off, What Does “Retrograde” Mean?
From Mercury all the way out to Pluto, you’ll find all our planetary channels periodically take action in what is called “Retrograde.” These are the times that we are guided to GOT TO GO REDO EGO, GOT TO GO TO ART, GOT TO GO RETREAT, GOT TO GO A GREAT DEAR REREAD as we can spell out the truth.

Any astronomer can properly explain to you that even though planets literally reverse their direction via their measured degrees in astrology, they aren’t in actuality going backwards at all by physical astronomical definition. One thing is for certain, is they aren’t moving forward when one is in the awareness of any planet’s retrograde motion.

Oh and by the way, the “RETRO” you obviously see at these times is not some new trendy thing recycled from the past. However, the RETRO you do witness under these reflective planetary periods certainly does take you back to fix what maybe screaming at you to take that pause to chill out, slow down, and finally pay attention to it.

Any planets’ retrograde period requests us to return, redo, reflect and reassess what we’ve already put into forward motion from the area of our lives in is journeying on it’s backwards trail through. It is best too, to have your birth chart properly done by a professional astrologer so you can know exactly what area of your life any given retrograde cycle urges you to “retro” on back to.

Name Expressions: The Energy Vibrations Within Our Names & Titles
When we examine the Name Expression of the specific title of MERCURY RETROGRADE -which is the numerological energy that is always behind it through the values of the letters that compose it- we find it has, as numbers always will provide, the very key points to know what exactly to do within the action of it.

One should not be surprised it is guided by the Chaldean’s understanding of the 13, which is one of the compound numbers they coined as the understanding of ‘Regeneration – Change.’ Adding 1 + 3 together, we find the 4, whose singular energy is ruled by the planet Uranus, who opens us up to breakthroughs and sudden changes- equally governing over our originality, individuality and the unexpected in life. What happens under Mercury Retrograde is all about returning to a point of regeneration, and the changes we see during it’s passage, are more often than not: sudden and unexpected.

The Chaldean Karmic Mystery associated with the 13, ‘Regeneration – Change,’ is uncannily on point as to what we all tend to experience anytime Mercury Retrogrades. Said the Chaldeans about the 13: “13 is not an unlucky number, as many people believe. The ancients claimed that he who understands how to use the number 13 will be given power and dominion. The symbol of the 13 is a skeleton, or death, with a scythe, reaping down men in a field of new-grown grass, where young faces and heads appear to be thrusting through the ground and emerging on all sides. 13 is a number of upheaval, so that new ground may be broken. It’s associated with power, which, if used for selfish purposes, will bring destruction upon itself. There is a warning of the unknown and the unexpected. Adapting to change gracefully will bring out the strength of the 13 vibration, and decrease any potential for he negative. 13 is associated with genius- also with explorers, breaking the orthodox and new discoveries of all kinds. 4/8 advice as well.” ~Linda Goodman’s Star Signs

There is no doubt that we all experience profound energies as we circulate through any Mercury Retrograde as its’ Name Expression advises through the 13’s concept of  ‘Regeneration – Change.’ MRx always reroutes, asking us to have backup plans B, C, D & even E necessary during it’s transit. Whatever we may be anticipating, we will experience changes with it on some level.

It is rare for any MRx passage to go by without us equally noticing that regeneration of some kind has found us as well. The key to embracing graceful energy under MRx is to adapt to change, the very request of the 13 Name Expression itself.

What is also of interest to note is the artistic energy surrounding a Mercury Retrograde. While MRx certainly does not advise the signing of documents, getting married or starting anything for the future, returning to adventures where creativity and unfinished projects are the focus- these are able to tap into that genius the 13 promises to emerge within anyone.

Astrologically throughout history, some of the greatest artistic releases via film, music or the like have been revealed under a Mercury Retrograde passage. So, returning to creativity is a positive thing -and quite lucky indeed- we can discover is time well spent in the power of what this “tricky” passage can bring into our genius experiences.

As we engage in recognizing the rewards within what our Mercury Retrograde passages request, another point to note is what the singular 4’s guidance does here for anyone through how Uranus prepares us to expect the unexpected from the entire transit. 4 is known as The Innovator, in where the backtracking, reflection and review we do tends to open up some of the greatest creations we will find to move forward with once the transits completes.  4 is the energy that always requests for us to honor the self, our individuality, and see the larger picture of how we are equally all connected as one through a universal brotherhood and sisterhood.
